My goal is not to just do the same thing every day, but to advance myself and stay ahead of the curve, and to push myself a little more with every patient and every challenge that I encounter. It’s an exciting time to be in dentistry and I am thankful every day that I have the opportunity to do what I love and be a part of this profession.
From South Africa
to Dentistry
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Dr. Sirin moved to California when he was ten years old. At a young age, when he had braces, Dr. Sirin decided to become a dentist. As he learned more about the field, dentistry’s appeal got stronger.
Chicago Calls
He stayed in his home state for college, earning bachelor of science degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of California. But after experiencing Chicago while traveling, he couldn’t get it out of his system. He moved to the Windy City to attend Northwestern University Dental School, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Sirin moved back to California for a few years to begin practicing dentistry, but it wasn’t long before he returned to the Chicago area, where he has now served patients for two decades.
Advanced Training
Although the state of Illinois requires dentists to complete 16 hours of continuing education each year, Dr. Sirin completes 100-130 hours yearly — more than six times the requirement. This extensive training often focuses on cosmetic dentistry services such as dental surgery, porcelain veneers, and porcelain crowns.
Clinical Philosophy
Dr. Sirin doesn’t just set out to fix teeth, he wants to make them look like they were never broken, decayed, discolored, or misaligned in the first place. To that end, he practices minimally invasive dentistry and a conservative approach to treatment. He would much rather prevent a cavity than fill it and save a tooth rather than extract it.

Home Life
When not serving patients, Dr. Sirin enjoys bicycle riding around Elgin, cooking, and traveling.
